Depends on what part of the bible you are referring to. The Greeks had ideas regarding evolution but didn’t call it evolution per se. And the Greeks pre-date the new testament and several parts of the old testament.

The problem is that for many [Straw--Ed.] believers, what they consider a non-literal interpretation allows doubt—”if it is wrong about this, what else is it wrong about.” This is why you will hear claims that there are no contradictions or mistakes in “the Bible”–even though individual texts correct ones in others!
Ironically, “literalists” require allegory and denial of what the words actually say. I have one trying to convince me that Mk wrote in Latin to avoid one mistake.

consider this, when it was written, NOBODY had any idea about evolution. so they wrote it from the perspective of a person who has no idea that there are billions of living organisms. the Bible isnt meant to be taken literally, so there’s plenty of room for evolution to fit into the picture of Christianity.
